Welcome to Fruit Hills Winery and Orchard. Michele and I, and our son Nathan and daughter-in-law Brittany, want to invite you to visit our new winery and tasting room located on State Road 15 approximately two miles south of Bristol, Indiana. We opened the tasting room up for business on November 27, 2010.<\/p>\n

This was the culmination of a year and a half of planning, building, and struggling with governmental red tape on every level but at last our dream is becoming a reality. As the name implies we also operate a commercial orchard. August through October is always our busiest months of the year as we harvest and market our fresh peaches and apples.<\/p>\n

This year we also added in the processing and fermentation of about eight tons of various varieties of wine grapes which we obtained from some of our friends in Michigan and Indiana. The excellence of this past growing season has resulted in some of the highest quality grapes from this region in years. We are very excited to have the wine that resulted from them in our cellar aging and improving.<\/p>\n

This past spring we planted the beginnings of a vineyard and this winter we are removing some apple trees from the orchard to make room for more. We\u2019ve never grown wine grapes before so I\u2019m sure it will be a learning experience. It will soon be time to start pruning the apple trees which though not very exciting has to be done every year. We will be using this blog and our Facebook page to share our progress and latest news!<\/p>\n
